Sporobolus virginicus (Seashore Dropseed) is a species of perennial grass in the family True grasses. It has a self-supporting growth form. It is native to U.S. Virgin Islands, Hawaii, Pacific Basin excluding Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the contiguous United States, Atlantic and Gulf Coastal Plain (AGCP), Florida, Middle America, eastern north america, Espirito Santo, Santa Catarina, Pampa, Rio de Janeiro, Maranhao, Mata Atlântica, Bahia, Alagoas, Pará, Piauí, São Paulo, Cerrado, Paraná, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Sul, Caatinga, and Amazônia. Seashore Dropseed has simple, broad leaves and brown flowers. It is a photoautotroph.
