Cyperus rotundus (Nutgrass) is a species of perennial herb in the family sedges. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Tocantins, GoiáS, Amapá, Rio Grande Do Sul, AmazôNia, RondôNia, Piauí, Mata AtlâNtica, Sergipe, SãO Paulo, ParaíBa, Paraná, Rio De Janeiro, Pará, Rio Grande Do Norte, Ceará, Cerrado, Alagoas, Acre (Brazil), Distrito Federal, Roraima, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Espirito Santo, Santa Catarina, Caatinga, Mato Grosso, Pernambuco, Maranhao, Minas Gerais, and Bahia. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 0.68 m.
