Cyperus papyrus (Indian Matting Plant) is a species of perennial grass in the family sedges. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Cerrado, Distrito Federal, Rio De Janeiro, Pernambuco, Rio Grande Do Sul, Mata Atlântica, ParaíBa, Bahia, Espirito Santo, Minas Gerais, Sergipe, SãO Paulo, GoiáS, Pampa, Pantanal, and Alagoas.
