They are native to Maranhao, Caatinga, Ceará, Santa Catarina, Roraima, AmazôNia, Pacific Basin excluding Hawaii, Mata Atlântica, Rio De Janeiro, Pernambuco, Bahia, Pará, RondôNia, Pantanal, Espirito Santo, Rio Grande Do Sul, Tocantins, GoiáS, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Mato Grosso, Rio Grande Do Norte, Alagoas, Minas Gerais, Acre (Brazil), Puerto Rico, Piauí, The Contiguous United States, ParaíBa, Distrito Federal, Amapá, Sergipe, SãO Paulo, Cerrado, Paraná, and Pampa. They have simple, broad leaves and brown flowers. Individuals can grow to 0.98 m.
