They are native to SãO Paulo, Espirito Santo, Minas Gerais, Maranhao, Sergipe, Bahia, Amapá, Pará, Caatinga, Puerto Rico, AmazôNia, Rio Grande Do Norte, ParaíBa, Mata Atlântica, Ceará, Rio De Janeiro, The Contiguous United States, Piauí, U.S. Virgin Islands, Pernambuco, and Alagoas. They have simple, broad leaves.
