Syngonium podophyllum (American Evergreen) is a species of perennial herb in the family Araceae. It is a climber. It is associated with freshwater habitat. American Evergreen is native to Colombia, Honduras, Mexico, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Trinidad and Tobago, Peru, Venezuela, Bolivia, Belize, French Guiana, Suriname, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Brazil, Panama, El Salvador, and Guyana. It has simple, broad leaves. It is a photoautotroph. Individuals can grow to 4.9 m.
