Emilia sonchifolia (Lilac Tasselflower) is a species of annual herb in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Maranhao, Cerrado, Minas Gerais, SãO Paulo, AmazôNia, Rio Grande Do Norte, Pará, Puerto Rico, Pernambuco, Rio De Janeiro, Ceará, Bahia, Espirito Santo, ParaíBa, Sergipe, The Contiguous United States, Alagoas, Caatinga, Piauí, Mata AtlâNtica, US Minor Outlying Islands, and U.S. Virgin Islands. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Cassius Blue, Least Skipper, Anthidiellum perplexum, and Halictus poeyi. Individuals can grow to 1 m.
