Danaus plexippus (Monarch) is a species of butterflies in the family brush-footed butterflies. They are listed as endangered by COSEWIC. They visit flowers of anacahuita, common milkweed, Vigethia mexicana, and Baldwin's ironweed. They are diurnal.
