Aronia melanocarpa (Black Chokeberry) is a species of shrub in the family Rosaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to The Contiguous United States, Canada, North America, and Eastern North America. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Andrena rufosignata, Syrphus torvus, Neighborly Andrena, and Unequal Cellophane Bee. Individuals can grow to 2.1 m.
