Jatropha (Nettlespurge) is a genus of tree in the family Euphorbiaceae. They are climbers. They are native to U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and The Contiguous United States. They have loculicidal capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Thorybes dorantes, Monarch, Spicebush swallowtail, and Julia Heliconian. Individuals can grow to 15 m.
