Hymenaea courbaril (Stinkingtoe) is a species of tree in the family Fabaceae. It has a self-supporting growth form. It is native to U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul, Mata Atlântica, Mato Grosso, Cerrado, Piauí, Espirito Santo, Paraíba, Maranhao, Paraná, Acre (Brazil), Rio Grande do Norte, Goiás, Rio de Janeiro, Bahia, Amazônia, São Paulo, Roraima, Caatinga, Pantanal, Amazônia, Tocantins, Alagoas, Pará, Pernambuco, Distrito Federal, Ceará, Sergipe, Amapá, Rondônia, Caatinga, and Cerrado. Stinkingtoe has compound, broad leaves and white flowers. It fixes nitrogen. It is a photoautotroph.
