Plegadis falcinellus (Glossy Ibis) is a species of birds in the family Threskiornithidae. It is associated with freshwater habitat. It is found in the Palearctic, the Afrotropics, the Nearctic, Australasia, the Indo-Malayan Realm, and the Neotropics. It is a diurnal invertivore. Individuals are known to live for 26.8 years and can grow to 768 g. Reproduction is dioecious. Plegadis falcinellus (Glossy Ibis) has parental care (pair provides care).
