Plegadis falcinellus (Glossy Ibis) is a species of birds in the family Threskiornithidae. It is associated with freshwater habitat. It is found in the Palearctic, the Afrotropics, the Nearctic, Australasia, the Indo-Malayan Realm, and the Neotropics. Glossy Ibis is a diurnal invertivore. Individuals can grow to 768 g. Reproduction is dioecious. Glossy Ibis has parental care (pair provides care). It relies on flight to move around.
