Charadrius mongolus (Lesser Sand Plover) is a species of birds in the family Charadriidae. It is associated with freshwater habitat. It is found in Australasia, the Palearctic, Oceania (Australia and islands), the Afrotropics, and the Indo-Malayan Realm. Lesser Sand Plover is a diurnal invertivore. Individuals can grow to 71 g. Reproduction is dioecious. Lesser Sand Plover has parental care (pair provides care). It relies on flight to move around.
