Calidris alba (Sanderling) is a species of birds in the family Scolopacidae. It is associated with freshwater habitat. It is found in the Indo-Malayan Realm, the Palearctic, the Neotropics, Australasia, Oceania (Australia and islands), the Nearctic, and the Afrotropics. It is a diurnal invertivore. Individuals are known to live for 18.6 years and can grow to 100 g. Reproduction is dioecious. Calidris alba (Sanderling) has parental care (pair provides care).
