Oxyura jamaicensis (Ruddy Duck) is a species of birds in the family Anatidae. It is associated with freshwater habitat. It is native to North America and Mexico. Ruddy Duck is a diurnal invertivore. Individuals are known to live for 13.6 years and can grow to 795 g. Reproduction is dioecious. Ruddy Duck has parental care (only female provides care).
