Ixobrychus minutus (Little Bittern) is a species of birds in the family Ardeidae. It is associated with freshwater habitat. It is found in the Afrotropics, Australasia, the Palearctic, and the Indo-Malayan Realm. Little Bittern is a diurnal invertivore. Individuals can grow to 144 g. Reproduction is dioecious. Little Bittern has parental care (pair provides care). It relies on flight to move around.
