Ploceus philippinus (Baya Weaver) is a species of birds in the family Weavers & allies. It is associated with freshwater habitat. It is found in the Palearctic and the Indo-Malayan Realm. Baya Weaver is a diurnal granivore. Individuals can grow to 32 g. Reproduction is dioecious. Baya Weaver has parental care (only female provides care).
