Geukensia demissa (Ribbed Mussel) is a species of mussels in the family Marine Mussels. It is associated with freshwater habitat. It is native to United States, Canada, and St. Lawrence River. Ribbed Mussel form shallow marine sediments. It is a suspension feeder. Individuals can grow to 1460 g. Ribbed Mussel has sexual reproduction. It is a sessile animal.
