colonial hydriod, with sporosacs, grows grows on shells of Hinia incrassata (Müller), either inhabited by the gastropod or by hermit crabs. Only a small fraction (1-2%) of the investigated shells havethe hydroid. It occurs in depths of 5-10 m.Hydranths are present from April to May.
