Trichechus senegalensis (African Manatee) is a species of manatees in the family manatees. They are listed as vulnerable by IUCN and in cites appendix i. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Ethiopia and Atlantic Ocean. They are herbivores. Individuals can grow to 4 m. Reproduction is viviparous. They rely on lift powered swimming to move around.
