Phocoena phocoena (Linnaeus 1758)

Phocoena phocoena is a species of mammals in the family porpoises. They are listed as of special concern by COSEWIC and in cites appendix ii. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to The Nearctic, Atlantic Ocean, the Palearctic, Pacific Ocean, Mediterranean Sea, and Arctic Ocean. They are solitary carnivores. Individuals are known to live for 180 months and can grow to 200 cm. They rely on swimming and lift powered swimming to move around.
