Megalops atlanticus (Tarpon) is a species of bony fishes in the family tarpons. They are listed as vulnerable by IUCN. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Mediterranean Sea, The Nearctic, Ethiopia, Atlantic Ocean, and The Neotropics. They are carnivores. Individuals can grow to 250 cm. They have sexual reproduction. They rely on swimming to move around.
