Monopterus albus (Asian swamp eel) is a species of bony fishes in the family swamp eels. It is associated with freshwater habitat. It is native to Myanmar, Philippines, India, Taiwan, Vietnam, Africa, Central America, Cambodia, China, Singapore, Japan, South America, Laos, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei, and Hong Kong. Individuals can grow to 100 cm. Monopterus albus (Asian swamp eel) has sexual reproduction.
