Test: clear, elliptical, round cross-section; with round, overlapping scales; no spines no dentate apertural plates. Pseudostome: terminal, circular with short, sometimes dentate, organic collar, which is produced during fission to hold the opposed shells together. This feature is highly variable. Ovular nucleus. Feeding: herbivore. Habitat: mosses, soil and aquatic vegetation. Type species: Tracheleuglypha dentata (Penard, 1890).
