Centaurea melitensis (Maltese Star Thistle) is a species of annual herb in the family Asteraceae. It has a self-supporting growth form. It is native to western north america, Morocco, France, Yugoslavia, Libya, Algeria, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece, and Tunisia. Maltese Star Thistle has simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Apical Leafcutter Bee. Maltese Star Thistle is a photoautotroph. Individuals can grow to 0.64 m.
