They are native to Yugoslavia, Belarus, Belgium, Georgia, Greece, Albania, Germany, Italy, Azerbaijan, France, Turkey, The Netherlands, Spain, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Russia, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Ukraine, Lithuania, and Estonia. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Helophilus latifrons. Individuals can grow to 0.29 m.
