Senecio vulgaris (Groundsel) is a species of annual herb in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to South Korea, Russia, Hungary, France, Yugoslavia, Belarus, Austria, Finland, Czech Republic, Sweden, Libya, Poland, Norway, Germany, China, Ireland, The Netherlands, Ukraine, Estonia, Albania, North Korea, Spain, Greece, Denmark, Tunisia, Italy, Faroe Islands, Latvia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Portugal, Lithuania, Georgia, Iran, Moldova, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Iceland, Morocco, Algeria, and Romania. They have simple, broad leaves and yellow flowers. Flowers are visited by Mason bees, Colletes fodiens, Picobirnavirus 504, and Syrphid fly. Individuals can grow to 1.5 feet.
