Piper umbellatum (Wild Pepper) is a species of shrub in the family Piperaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Minas Gerais, Bahia, Tocantins, Pernambuco, GoiáS, Mata Atlântica, Rio Grande Do Sul, Distrito Federal, Santa Catarina, Pará, AmazôNia, Rio De Janeiro, Cerrado, Alagoas, Espirito Santo, Acre (Brazil), Paraná, RondôNia, Maranhao, Ceará, Sergipe, Roraima, SãO Paulo, and Mato Grosso. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 2.9 m.
