They are native to The Contiguous United States, AmazôNia, Ceará, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Tocantins, Puerto Rico, Bahia, Pará, Mata AtlâNtica, Rio Grande Do Norte, Caatinga, Pantanal, Mato Grosso, GoiáS, and Eastern North America. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Burnsius oileus, Gray Hairstreak, Lasioglossum tamiamense, and Little Yellow.
