Melanthera nivea is a species of shrub in the family Asteraceae. They are climbers. They have a procumbent growth form. They are native to Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, AmazôNia, and The Contiguous United States. Flowers are visited by Rekoa palegon, Melanchroia chephise, Chlosyne lacinia adjutrix, and Halictus poeyi.
