They are native to Puerto Rico, Mato Grosso, Cerrado, RondôNia, Paraná, Piauí, Pará, Amapá, Acre (Brazil), GoiáS, AmazôNia, U.S. Virgin Islands, Tocantins, Roraima, Maranhao, and Mato Grosso Do Sul. They have simple, broad leaves and drupe. Individuals can grow to 23 m.
