Pityrogramma calomelanos (Dixie Silverback Fern) is a species of perennial herb in the family Pteridaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to GoiáS, Ceará, RondôNia, Paraná, Rio Grande Do Sul, Pampa, Piauí, Tocantins, Santa Catarina, Sergipe, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Cerrado, Mata AtlâNtica, Espirito Santo, Roraima, Pará, Pernambuco, SãO Paulo, ParaíBa, Rio De Janeiro, Mato Grosso, Puerto Rico, Alagoas, Acre (Brazil), Caatinga, Pantanal, Bahia, Distrito Federal, AmazôNia, Amapá, Maranhao, and Rio Grande Do Norte. They have compound, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 3.7 m. They have alternation of generations.
