Locality records of species of Watersipora all must be reassessed in the light of the conclusions of Vieira et al (2014). Valid records of W. arcuata are from the Pacific: Galapagos, Hawai'i, western USA and Mexico, eastern and southern Australia. This species may have become locally extinct in Australia.
