The hillside where this one was found was pretty much covered in Douglas Fir, but in general Ute Valley Park doesn't yield too much of this species (mostly Ponderosa Pine).

Cahuite de aproximadamente 24 m de altura, en la ladera del Cerro del Descansito del Agua en las tierras de uso común de la Comunidad San Miguel de Temoaya, justo a la orilla de la brecha Yonora-Las Espinas. Era el 3o que veÃamos durante el dÃa. Bosque de encino con presencia de madroño (Arbustus sp.) y los encinos (Quercus sp.) de hoja amarilla, roble y blanco.
