Talinum fruticosum (Ceylon Spinach) is a species of shrub in the family Talinaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Maranhao, Bahia, Cerrado, ParaíBa, Amazônia, Roraima, Espirito Santo, U.S. Virgin Islands, Sergipe, Rio Grande Do Norte, Pernambuco, Rio De Janeiro, Pará, Pantanal, Mata Atlântica, Mato Grosso Do Sul, GoiáS, Minas Gerais, Caatinga, Piauí, Alagoas, SãO Paulo, Puerto Rico, Ceará, Mato Grosso, and Paraná. They have simple, broad leaves and capsule fruit. Individuals can grow to 4 m.
