Sonchus oleraceus (Common Sowthistle) is a species of annual herb in the family Asteraceae. They are native to Asia, Caatinga, Africa, Mata Atlântica, Cerrado, and Europe. They have achenes. Flowers are visited by Melanostoma mellinum, Lesser Goldfinch, Lyssavirus rabies, and Lasioglossum smeathmanellum.
