Terrestrial herb, 20 - 55 cm. Leaves 2, basal, appressed to the ground, broadly ovate to almost round. Several small bract-like leaves along the flowering stem. Inflorescence fairly densely 10-20 flowered. Flowers white. Dorsal sepal erect, convex, forming a hood; lateral sepals spreading obliquely ovate, acute. Petals 2-lobed nearly to the base; upper lobes linear, erect adnate to the dorsal sepal; lower lobes linear, often spreading outwards and upwards. Lip 3-lobed c. 3 mm from the base; mid-lobe oblong-lanceolate, wider than the side lobes. Spur 2.5-3 cm, slender throughout.
