They are native to United States, Western North America, The Contiguous United States, North America, and Canada. They have simple, broad leaves and yellow flowers. Flowers are visited by Eublemma, Oarisma garita, Cercyonis sthenele, and Cercyonis oetus. Individuals can grow to 4 feet.
