“Plants dioecious, richly mucilaginous, 3-7 cm high, 250-400 mm in diameter, abundantly branched, bluish green; whorls ellipsoidal, separated from each other when young, afterwards pear-shaped and confluent due to development of secondary fascicles; primary fascicles abundantly branched, 3-10 cell-storeys, cells oboical, ellipsoical, lanceolate, obovoidal, 5-6 mm in diameter, 7-15 mm long, terminal hairs rare; secondary fascicles numerous, finally reaching the secondary fascicles; carpogonium-bearing branches short, consisting of 2-5 barrel-shaped cells, arising from periaxial cells; involucral filaments short, rare; carpogonia without a distinct hemispherical protuberance on one side of basal portion, 37-53 mm long, trichogyne elongate conical, club-shaped, more or less indistinctly stalked; carposporophytes indefinite in shape, gonimoblast filament irregularly branched, arising from the same side (ventral side) of a basal hemispherical protuberance of carpogonium, creeping along cortical filaments; carposporangia obovoidal, 6-8 mm in diameter, 10-13 mm long.”
