Description

Climber up to 3 m. Stems bristly, twining when young. Leaves variable often 3-lobed in the lower parts, ovate higher up the stems, up to 5-10 cm long, bristly hairy on both surfaces, more sparsely so above; margin with prominent gland-like hairy teeth; petiole densely hairy. Male flowers numerous, borne in supra-axillary spikes up to 5 cm long. Female flowers in few-flowered subcapitate spikes. Fruit a drupe, c. 1.8 cm long, compressed, bristly hairy.
