Acanthopterygii is a superorder of bony fishes. There are 18005 species of Acanthopterygii, in 2947 genera and 300 families. This superorder has been around since the upper cretaceous epoch. It includes groups like Temperate Basses, Damselfishes, and Surfperches. They have sexual reproduction.
