I caught this wasp going in and out of a nest in a sandy area. It is, I believe,
Bicyrtes quadrifasciatus, a relative of

The rarest of the British species of Gorytes. RDB 3 Unfortunately for this tiny wasp it probably hatched 2 months early in a potted Lemon tree brought into my unheated conservatory to overwinter. An overnight frost rendered it comatose, so photos taken and then put outside in sunshine to recover.Cradley, Malvern Worcs. SO729470
