Banara guianensis is a species of shrub in the family Salicaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Amapá, Mata Atlântica, Pernambuco, Pará, Espirito Santo, Acre (Brazil), Amazônia, Ceará, Maranhao, Mato Grosso, Alagoas, Rio De Janeiro, RondôNia, Cerrado, Bahia, and Roraima. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 15 m.
