Very slender erect annual, 1.8-4.6 dm. high; leaves in 4—6 remote whorls of 3-5, or a few uppermost sometimes scattered, much shorter than the internodes, linear to linear-filiform, 0.8-3 cm. long, 0.3-1 mm. wide, acuminate, cuspidate, revolute-margined ; peduncles 3-6.5 cm. long; racemes very slender, conic-cylindric, acuminate, dense or loose, 2.5-3.5 mm. thick, the axis 1-8.5 cm. long; bracts lance-subulate, glandular-denticulate, deciduous; pedicels 0.2-0.4 mm. long; flowers whitish and greenish; sepals ovate to ovate-lanceolate, acute, ciliolate, 1-1.2 mm. long; wings obovate, 1.5-1.8 mm. long, 0.6-0.8 mm. wide, rounded, cuneate at base; keel 1-1.5 mm. long, the crest of a lamella and 1-2 lobes on each side; capsule oblong-oval, 1.8-2.1 mm. long; seed obconic-cylindric, curved, glabrous, 1.5-1.7 mm. long; aril 1-1.1 mm. long, the 2 lobes linear-elliptic, appressed.
