Melia azedarach (Chinaberrytree) is a species of tree in the family Meliaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to the indo-malayan realm, Sri Lanka, China, Japan, Indonesia, Australia, Solomon Islands, New Guinea, and India. They have compound, broad leaves and purple flowers. Flowers are visited by Monarch and Danaus plexippus plexippus. Individuals can grow to 50 feet.
