They are native to Puerto Rico, Ceará, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Caatinga, AmazôNia, ParaíBa, Cerrado, The Contiguous United States, Mato Grosso, RondôNia, Minas Gerais, Alagoas, Rio Grande Do Norte, Bahia, U.S. Virgin Islands, Pantanal, Piauí, and Pernambuco. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 0.1 m.
