Parnassia palustris (Bog Star) is a species of perennial herb in the family Celastraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to The Contiguous United States, Asia, North America, Canada, and Alaska. They have simple, broad leaves, white flowers, and loculicidal capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Phyllolabis macroura, Smittia aterrima, robber flies, and Thricops rostratus. Individuals can grow to 2.2 feet.
