Sarracenia purpurea (Purple Pitcherplant) is a species of perennial herb in the family pitcher plants. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are listed in cites appendix ii. They are native to United States, Eastern North America, The Contiguous United States, Saint-Pierre Et Miquelon, Canada, North America, and Alaska. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 0.17 m.
