Nyssa sylvatica (Black Tupelo) is a species of tree in the family Nyssaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to United States, Eastern North America, The Contiguous United States, Canada, and North America. They have simple, broad leaves and green flowers. Flowers are visited by bees & apoid Wasps and Colletes thoracicus. Individuals can grow to 95 feet.
