They are native to Rio Grande Do Sul, Ceará, Espirito Santo, Mata AtlâNtica, ParaíBa, The Contiguous United States, Tocantins, Amapá, Distrito Federal, Rio Grande Do Norte, U.S. Virgin Islands, Sergipe, Caatinga, Roraima, Rio De Janeiro, Cerrado, GoiáS, Maranhao, Bahia, Alagoas, Pernambuco, Piauí, Minas Gerais, Pará, Pampa, Puerto Rico, and AmazôNia. They have simple, broad leaves.
